Catholic Answers Faith and Science Conference Show

We had a great, big, wonderful Friday conference show! Listen in for listeners questions, live from the Catholic Answers Faith and Science Conference.

Questions Covered:

  • 14:40 - I was flummoxed by the breadth of proof for our evolution from non-human species, particularly as I tried to incorporate the Adam and Eve narrative with evolution. Who were they? How might God have distinguished them from the rest of their tribe? What do you make of the theory that it was the appearance of a genetic trait which allowed for language to develop, esp. The use of words for universal ideas?
  • 19:40 - If your DNA comes from both parents, where did Jesus’ father’s DNA come from?
  • 23:35 - What are good science resources for parents with middle school or high schoolers teaching in light of the faith?
  • 29:15 - With regards to the evolution of a human being, how do you reconcile our faith with the discovery of early human fossils and advanced apes?
  • 43:35 - If you have to literally believe that the host is the flesh of Christ, how do you do that when you can see that the host is bread?
  • 49:40 - I believe that God was the cause of the Big Bang. After the big bang, has God made adjustments to the universe in order to make it hospitable for humans? Are we privileged in this way?
