Will food be eaten in heaven?
In heaven we will not, strictly speaking, have need of food for our sustenance as we do on earth because there will be no death in heaven nor any suffering (see CCC 1044), both of which occur on earth when adequate food is not consumed.
However, we will have glorified bodies (see CCC 1038ff.), and Jesus consumed food in his glorified, post-Resurrection bodily state (Luke 24:36-42). Scripture also speaks of “the marriage supper of the Lamb” in heaven (Rev. 19:9), although what that supper entails is not clear.
In summary, it’s possible we could eat food as part of our heavenly joy, even though it won’t be required. In addition, given our glorified bodies, we will have no worry about issues related to digestion.
