Why Mary Never Sinned

Question:

Was the only reason Mary did not sin because she was born without original sin (thus without the human capacity to sin), or is there more to it than that?

Answer:

There is a lot more to it than that in this sense: the mere absence of original sin would not guarantee the absence of any personal sin any more than it did for our first parents before their fall. Our Lady was given special infused graces of insight and knowledge that enabled her not to make any disordered moral judgments. There is simply no way to explain Our Lady’s sinlessness other than by her recourse to some divine gift whereby she was so enlightened or taught that she did not make any practical moral misstep.
