Satan & Co. Expelled from Heaven. Could Others Suffer Same?

Listen to the audio version of this content

Question:

Just as Satan & Co left heaven, is that something that could happen to others as well?

Answer:

Thankfully, no else can. Satan and all of the other angels were created good, and yet they had a decision to make at the beginning of their creation. Would they accept God and his reign? Satan and the other disobedient angels sadly did not (CCC 392-93).

Though created in heaven, Satan and the other bad angels refused to be in communion with God and thus were cast out. In contrast, everyone else who enters heaven—human beings—have definitively accepted God and his reign and so there will be no casting out of them (CCC 1023-29).
