Rosary: Clockwise or Counter-Clockwise?

Listen to the audio version of this content

Question:

Which way is the proper direction to say the rosary: clockwise from the medal or counter-clockwise? Or does it not matter?

Answer:

A traditional practice is praying in a counter-clockwise direction, but there’s no official Church rule on the matter, so be at peace in praying in either direction. In addition, one need not even use a rosary when praying the rosary. For instance, you can count the prayers on your fingers. This further reaffirms that our personal inner disposition is paramount in praying the rosary.
