Is it a mortal sin to buy non-essential items on Sunday night after the Masses in our diocese are finished?
Answer:
No. But, as you’ve noted well, there is no need for you to buy these things to get by in life that day. So why do so? In addition, your witness does not encourage others to refrain from such needless activities on the Lord’s Day (see CCC 2186, 2184-2188).
