Isn’t it unfair for God to damn someone for committing a last-minute mortal sin if he’s been righteous up till then?

Question:

It seems unfair that God would damn to hell someone who<br /> lives in a state of grace his entire life, yet commits a mortal sin at the end of his life and dies in that state. Wouldn&#039;t his righteous life outweigh the one final sin?
