Criticize Muslim Doctrine Without Criticizing God

Question:

Can Christians blaspheme Allah?

Answer:

Christians should remember that “Allah” is the name of God in Arabic and so is a divine name that Arabic-speaking Christians such as Maronite Catholics, and not only Muslims, use. Consequently, out of respect to both God and Muslims, Christians should not misuse the name of Allah (see the Catechism 2142-67).

In contrast, Christians can express legitimate criticism of Islamic doctrine regarding God, including Muslim disbelief in the divinity of Jesus Christ, but they should make that criticism constructively, i.e., without showing disrespect to God per se and needlessly alienating Muslims.
