Dear catholic.com visitors: This website from Catholic Answers, with all its many resources, is the world’s largest source of explanations for Catholic beliefs and practices. A fully independent, lay-run, 501(c)(3) ministry that receives no funding from the institutional Church, we rely entirely on the generosity of everyday people like you to keep this website going with trustworthy, fresh, and relevant content. If everyone visiting this month gave just $1, catholic.com would be fully funded for an entire year. If you’ve never made a gift, now is the time. Your donation will be matched dollar for dollar this week only. Thanks and God bless.

Contributor

Lisa Duffy has both personal and professional experience in helping others deal with divorce. Born and raised in Southern California, Duffy suffered through the pain of being a divorced Catholic in the early 1990s.  After seven years of intense struggle, spiritual growth and personal triumph, remarriage in the Church, and the birth of three miracle children, she knew that she had a strong desire to help others who were suffering find hope and healing. She has worked for the Church in a variety of roles, most recently in directing the Journey of Hope program in the Archdiocese of Atlanta, which she authored and upon which her book Divorced. Catholic. Now What? was based.

Duffy has been featured on many radio programs including Catholic Answers Live, The Teresa Tomeo Show, Relevant Radio’s On Call with Wendy Wiese, Sirius Satellite Radio’s The Catholics Next Door with Greg and Jennifer Willits, and Kresta in the Afternoon with Al Kresta.

Duffy has given workshops for the North American Conference for Separated and Divorced Catholics (NACSDC, now Catholic Divorce Ministry CDM. She is currently the President of Journey of Hope Productions.

Duffy lives in Georgia with her husband and three children.
