Monsignor John Cihak is pastor of Christ the King Parish in Milwaukie, Oregon, and Director of Ongoing Formation of the Clergy for the Archdiocese of Portland in Oregon. He studied philosophy at the University of Notre Dame and has a Licentiate in Fundamental Theology and a Doctorate in Dogmatic Theology from the Gregorian University in Rome. He has served in several parishes in Oregon and has taught theology at Mount Angel Seminary in Oregon and at the Gregorian University. For nine years he served as an Official in the Congregation for Bishops at the Vatican and for eight years was a papal master of ceremonies for Pope Benedict XVI and Pope Francis. He has published 3 books and several articles in theology.
