Fr. Anthony Saroki

Contributor

Fr. Anthony Saroki, J.D., is the oldest of six children born to Karim and Faiza, Chaldean Catholic immigrants from Iraq. He was raised in San Diego and graduated from Chula Vista High School. He studied at Georgetown University and earned a BA in Government in 1996. He attended law school at UC Berkeley and received his JD in 1999.

After two years of practicing business litigation for a large law firm in downtown San Diego, God made it clear that he had another vocation in mind for Anthony—to serve God and the Church as a priest. Anthony responded to the call and entered seminary formation at St. John’s Seminary in Camarillo, California. He was ordained a priest in 2005. For the past year, he has served as a Catholic chaplain to SDSU and an associate pastor of Blessed Sacrament parish. He is the Pastor of Ascension Parish in Tierrasanta and serves as the Director of Priestly Vocations for the Diocese of San Diego.
