Contributor

Abby Johnson holds a B.S. in psychology from Texas A&M University and an M.A. in counseling from Sam Houston State University. She was hired by Planned Parenthood in 2005 and progressed to the position of community services director and health educator, where she served as liaison between the community and Planned Parenthood as media correspondent. Later promoted to health center director, Johnson ran both the family planning and abortion programs.

In 2009, Abby resigned from her position after she was asked to assist in an ultrasound-guided abortion procedure, and directly witnessed an abortion for the first time.  She turned to a local pro-life resource group, The Brazos Valley Coalition for Life. Since her departure from Planned Parenthood, Abby has been traveling the country sharing her story and motivating others to continue the pro-life fight. She also works on projects for the national 40 Days for Life team. She is the author of Unplanned, a heart stopping personal drama of life-and-death encounters, the courtroom battle, and the spiritual transformation that speaks hope and compassion into the political controversy that surrounds this issue.

She and her husband, Doug, have a young daughter and live in Texas.
