A few months ago, the radio department at Catholic Answers hired an assistant producer for Catholic Answers Live. Please meet Marie Dixon:
Did you grow up Catholic? Yes. My parents have been faithful Catholics who raised my siblings and me to love the Lord and the Church. The biggest blessing is seeing their faith in God grow, change, and deepen as we grow as a family. My family is my support in prayer and in life.
So how did you end up at Catholic Answers Radio? I was a schoolteacher and loved it but I was searching to work more directly for God. I knew I wanted to work to further faith in the world and couldn’t pass up the opportunity when I discovered Catholic Answers was hiring.
What are some of your responsibilities in the radio department? A bit of this, a bit of that. I edit, call screen, schedule for the studio, help brainstorm and coordinate new projects, and try to keep everyone organized.
A few months into the job, what is your impression of Catholic Answers? Every department works hard, prays hard, and feels passionately about sharing the truth with the world. The laughter around the office, generosity, and sense of community are all a part of the real joy here.
Is Cy Kellett kind of a prima donna? Cy is a dramatic diva, but he signed a contract, and we’re stuck with him. Praise God for that!
