We are happy to announce Christopher Costello as the new director of information technology (IT). He earned his bachelor of science degree in electrical engineering from UCLA and brings to the ministry more than twenty-four years of experience in software development and IT.
“At its heart, Catholic Answers is a media ministry, and having a solid leader at the head of the IT department is key to our growth,” said Jon Sorensen, chief operating officer for Catholic Answers.
What are your responsibilities as the director of IT?
I head up the team that manages all of the technology related applications and infrastructure that enable the various branches of the apostolate to function. This includes the desktop computers, laptops, network, and telecom infrastructure. It also includes the technology applications that manage our financial systems, ecommerce store, shipping, and patron giving processes. Our team also develops and manages catholic.com and the Catholic Answers Live mobile app.
What excites you most about joining the Catholic Answers team?
I’m excited for the opportunity to combine my technology background and love of the Catholic faith in my daily occupation.
What goals do you hope to achieve in your role with the ministry?
I hope to advance the mission of the apostolate, through the efficient use of technology, and to reach as many people as possible with our various media content and programs.
