What if I Skipped the Rites of the Catechumenate?

Question:

I skipped the rite of acceptance and the rite of election. Were my baptism and confirmation still valid?

Answer:

By all means, yes. The rites of the catechumenate are not necessary for the validity of the sacraments of initiation. They are rites established by the Church, not sacraments instituted by Christ. As long as you sincerely intended to be baptized and confirmed and the sacraments were conferred, then you received them validly.
