What If I Can’t Get to Mass?

Question:

If I cannot go to Mass because of weather, do I still have an obligation to watch Mass on TV? In this case, would I be committing a mortal sin if I didn’t watch Mass on TV if I were able to?

Answer:

If you are not able to get to Mass physically, then there is no obligation to attend Mass at all, and certainly no obligation to watch a televised Mass. You would do well, however, to devote more time to prayer in any case, to mark the sacred character of the day.
