Welcome into the Family, Baby

Question:

Does infant baptism make a baby Catholic?

Answer:

If a baby is baptized Catholic, the child is considered a Catholic because baptism incorporates us into the Church (Code of Canon Law 11, 849).

You can think of baptism as being brought into the family of the Church. Once someone is a member of our family, we always consider them a member of our family.

We’re a nonprofit —no ads, just truth. Will you help us stay that way?
