Was Jesus’ Human Nature Created?

Listen to the audio version of this content

Question:

Was Jesus’ human nature created? Can the Father and the Holy Spirit be said to be God and human?

Answer:

The human nature that Jesus took on, since it is finite—as the Catechism of the Catholic Church states (CCC 476)—was created. There was a time when it did not exist, and then there was a time when it did. The Father and the Holy Spirit cannot be said to be God and human, since they did not become incarnate as did Jesus.
