Is Valid Baptism Enough to Be a Catholic?

Question:

Since my Assembly of God baptism is valid, what more do I need to do to enter the Church?

Answer:

Since you have a valid baptism, you are considered a candidate rather than a catechumen (one preparing for baptism). The process, though, is fairly similar.

You simply need to provide the parish with proof of your valid baptism and they will place you in the appropriate Rite of Christian Initiation classes. In those classes, you’ll learn about what the Church teaches regarding the sacraments and the particulars of the Catholic Faith. After you have completed the classes, you most likely would be officially received into the Church and receive the sacraments of First Communion and confirmation at the Easter Vigil.
