Why Did the Church Establish More Days and Seasons to Observe?

Question:

I understand Paul is talking about Old Testament feasts in Galatians 4:10; so why did the Church establish more days and seasons to observe?

Answer:

Since the New Covenant is the fulfillment of the old, its feasts take precedence over those of the old. Certainly the birth of the Savior, his death, resurrection, and ascension trump everything that came before. The old has been fulfilled by the new in a most glorious and sublime way, don’t you agree?
