The name for this magazine comes, of course, from Matthew 16:18. Christ chose the weakest of the apostles as the earthly head of his Church so no man could claim credit for what God alone would do.This strength-through-weakness technique has been a scandal to the world ever since, but that's the way God works. He uses the weak to confound the mighty. ("How many divisions has the Pope?" asked Stalin, whose current successor knows the answer: "Plenty.")God condescends to work through men to achieve his ends, yet achieve them he does. We're just asked to cooperate with him. At Catholic Answers, we're trying to cooperate through this magazine. To the extent any good comes from it, the credit is God's. To the extent any harm comes, the blame is ours. We hope there will be much good and little harm. Our desire is to mirror the Rock which is Peter, which rests upon the Rock which is Christ, and to explain clearly and accurately the Catholic faith. But to do that we need your cooperation, your suggestions, and your prayers. And we need one more thing: As we're getting our bearings, we expect to miss deadlines and typos, so we also need your patience.
