I was having a conversation on your forums about Muslims and came across paragraph 841 of the CCC. Can you talk a bit about what this paragraph is saying?
I’m an American Muslim and a lot of my friends say Catholics believe in three gods because of the Trinity. I know that you guys believe in one God. Can you clarify this for me?
Regarding the Catholic teaching on marriage, I know that in order for a couple to marry, they’d have to be in a free position to get married (i.e. no previous marriage), and they’d have to want to get married to each other. Would the church then not recommend a couple who conceived a child outside of marriage to get married once they found out? Assuming the couple is not in love and do not want to get married to each other.
I’m learning about the Church and I’m confused about why there is an Eastern Church and a Western Church, and why the rules are different. Isn’t the Catholic Church universal?
