THE THIRD DAY: JUST SYMBOL?

"Name" theologians are saying it doesn't matter if Jesus rose from the dead on the third day because he really didn't rise at all – at least not physically. They say (the timid among them merely imply) that his Resurrection was spiritual only, not bodily, which means his bones are still in the Holy Land. What does the Church say about such speculations, and is the third day really important? A noted theologian gives the lowdown.

OFF THE DEEP END

Robert McKenna wanted to be pope, but recent conclaves passed him up, so now he heads his own church. He calls it the Catholic Church and claims it's the one Jesus founded. He says "real" Catholics must abandon John Paul II and Vatican II.
