Why Be Catholic?

This is actually two talks. But each talk can be given alone or together with the other. During these two talks, Tim will take you from no faith at all to the four marks of the Church. Whether you are a skeptic yourself or if you want to learn how to share your faith with someone who does not believe, this talk is for you.

In the first talk, Tim will show you how you can demonstrate the existence of God using good philosophy and good science, as well as how you can prove “beyond a reasonable doubt” the natural immortality of the human soul, Natural Law, the necessity of divine revelation, and the Catholic Christian Faith as the fullness of that divine revelation. This talk will empower you to be able to present the only antidote to what Pope Benedict XVI calls “the dictatorship of relativism”—absolute truth.

In the second talk, Tim tackles the problem of dealing with fellow Christians who agree with much of what we said above, except for the notion that the Catholic Church is the Church established by Jesus Christ with infallible authority in AD 33. Some may even say they would like for this to be true, but they just can’t buy it because of numerous teachings of the Church they cannot square with Scripture. Tim takes you through a number of the most important of these sticking points until once again the truth and beauty of the Catholic Church comes shining through.
