The Narratio: A Historical Overview of Salvation History from Genesis to Jesus Karlo Broussard In this six session seminar, Karlo tells the story of how God, throughout the course of human history, works out His masterful plan of leading the human race to share in His own Blessed Life. This journey includes a study of the beginning chapters of the book of Genesis and its account of creation along with the event of Noah and the flood. It then traces the history of salvation as it unfolds in the series of covenants that God makes with His chosen people – from Abraham to the twelve tribes of Israel, from the 12 tribes to Moses, and then from Moses to King David. Finally, this historical survey reaches its climax and fulfillment in Jesus and the Church. The purpose of this seminar is to give Catholics a working outline and overview of the salvific story that the Bible tells from Genesis to Jesus. It will help the Catholic read the Bible in a way that perhaps one has never read it before and give him or her a much better understanding of the general structure of salvation history, which in turn serves to be a fountain of fresh water that irrigates the soil of the soul bearing fruit in the practice of Christian meditation. |
