About “Catholic Answers LIVE”
Where you can hear us
“Catholic Answers LIVE” is a daily, call-in radio program that airs live Monday through Friday from 6 P.M. to 8 P.M. Eastern Time (3 P.M. to 5 P.M. Pacific), on over 100 AM and FM stations across America, on Sirius satellite radio, as well as around the world on EWTN Global Catholic Radio (shortwave) and on the Internet.
According to listener surveys, it has become a runaway favorite program on the stations that carry it.
Who’s on the show
Jerry Usher, the host of the show, has a degree in theology and philosophy from Franciscan University of Steubenville, along with 20-plus years of professional radio experience.
Day by day, week by week,
Jerry is joined by some of the most prominent men and women in the Catholic Church to discuss issues that are timely and relevant to us all.
Jerry takes your phone calls live on the broadcast, allowing you to speak with these outstanding guests.
Regular guests include Catholic Answers founder and president, Karl Keating, who answers a variety of questions on our Q & A Open Forum (which airs every Tuesday and Thursday).
Other Q&A Open Forum guests include our Director of Apologetics and Evangelization, Jimmy Akin, staff apologists Rosalind Moss, Tim Staples, Jim Blackburn, Jason Evert, our chaplain, Fr. Vincent Serpa, along with other important guests such as Fr. John Trigilio, Fr. Mitch Pacwa, Fr. Benedict Groeschel, Ray Guarendi, Steve Ray, Patrick Madrid, Jim Burnham and many more.
You’ll also hear Church leaders such as Bishop Fabian Bruskewitz, Francis Cardinal George, Bishop John Myers, and Archbishop Charles Chaput.

It’s the only program where listeners can call in and talk live with our top-notch line-up of guests and get answers to just about any question that’s on their minds.
But success doesn’t come easily or cheaply.
Many costs are incurred in airing a show like ours, not the least of which is simply producing the show on a daily basis.
We have four full-time staff members in our radio department, handling everything from guest relations (scheduling, confirming, and preparing guests to be on the program) to hosting, call-screening and engineering the broadcast each day.

How to get “Catholic Answers LIVE” in your area
If there’s no station near you that carries our program, there may be a way for you to change that.
Like many individuals and groups around the country, you could help us find a local station that will air our show.
Here’s what to do:

Identify a station with a format that might be open to carrying a show like “Catholic Answers LIVE.” Formats that are usually compatible include Catholic, Protestant, or secular news/talk.

Make contact with the managers of the station and see if there would be any interest on their part in a show like ours. If they say the live time slot is not available, ask if they would be open to airing the show on a tape-delayed basis or on the weekend.

Investigate ways that your area could generate funds to pay for the airtime. There are many ways of making this happen. You can solicit help from local parishes, Knights of Columbus councils, Catholic business owners, and so forth.
