How You Can Help Kids Stay Catholic in College

and receive a free set of three booklets—so that you can
give them to any high school senior(s) who are special in your life.

Dear Friend of Catholic Answers,

This coming September, approximately 40,000 students from Catholic high schools in America will be put directly in harm’s way.

Many won’t survive.

They will suffer injuries that will haunt them for the rest of their lives.

And their own parents won’t even know what’s happening.

What in the world am I talking about?

COLLEGE

When America’s Catholic high school seniors graduate in a few months, they’ll be heading off to college—and facing dangers to their faith and their morals.

On college and university campuses all across America these days—public, private, Catholic, it doesn’t matter—anti-Christian and anti-Catholic forces are lurking . . . waiting to ensnare unsuspecting young Catholics who have not been properly prepared to face the intellectual, moral, spiritual, physical, psychological, and emotional dangers that are out there.

Many campus environments are permeated with drugs, drunkenness, sexual promiscuity, pornography, atheism, hedonism, abortion, homosexuality, and lesbianism—the list goes on and on.

In the classroom, professors rail against the traditional values.

In virtually every class, they find some way to push radical feminism and gay rights.

Atheism is the preferred religion. Hedonism is the accepted lifestyle. Rebelliousness against God and Christianity is highly encouraged.

And any student who dares to object to the moral bankruptcy being preached from the professor’s pulpit is condemned for being “hateful” and “intolerant.”

Political correctness permeates the intellectual climate—and any deviation from being “tolerant” is simply not tolerated.

Every anti-Christian, immoral, and radical group gets “carte blanche” on campus.

But Christian or Catholic groups? Persecuted.

Pro-life groups? Persecuted.

Is it any wonder so many Catholic students behave the way they do, once they get a daily diet of all this?

Granted, state colleges and universities tend to be worse than private and Catholic institutions—but not by much!

Today’s Catholic colleges and universities—such as Georgetown, Notre Dame, Marquette, Gonzaga, Fordham, Santa Clara—are largely indistinguishable from their secular counterparts.

Parents often think they’re doing their sons and daughters a favor by sending them to a Catholic school instead of a government school—only to be sorely disappointed when Josh and Courtney come back with none of the Catholic beliefs, practices, or principles with which they left home.

And they have no clue what their children are getting into while away at college. Every day, they’re taught to laugh at the faith of their parents. Or they’re laughed at if they practice their faith. Going to Mass on Sunday morning is virtually unheard of.

Only the very strongest Catholics can withstand all of this pressure to abandon their faith.

Only students who have been properly prepared for the onslaught of the anti-Christian, anti-Catholic, and immoral lifestyle so prevalent on today’s campuses can hope to survive.

And that’s why I’m writing to you today—because we at Catholic Answers have been deeply moved by the heartbreaking stories from distraught parents who have lost their sons and daughters to the problems that infest virtually every college campus today.

And now we’ve decided to do something about it.

But, as always, we’re going to need your help.

As you can see, you and I simply can’t allow our Catholic students to be destroyed by the evil on today’s college campuses.

However, there’s nothing we can really do to change the colleges. Even the “Catholic” colleges and universities would laugh at us if we told them to clean up their campuses.

Therefore, we have to get to these students before they go off to college.

And that means we have to act now—because 40,000 Catholic high school seniors are going to be graduating in just a few months.

We’ve come up with a way to reach them—and we believe it will be highly effective.

Why? Because it’s already working.

I’m talking about reaching our young Catholics with fellow Catholics they can relate to. Young men and young women who have “been there, done that.”

And we just happen to have on our staff two of the brightest, most articulate, and most effective Catholic young adults who know how to communicate the right ideas to our Catholic high school students across the country.

I’m talking about Jason and Crystalina Evert. I’m sure you’re familiar with them.

Jason and Crystalina (who now have three children, by the way!) have been working at high schools and parishes all across America for the past eight years.

They know how to get through to students—because it wasn’t so long ago that they themselves were in high school and college.

Together, they’ve spoken to hundreds of thousands of students—and let me tell you, they have changed countless lives.

Here are just a few of the letters they’ve received from the students who’ve heard them:
“I just wanted to say that your presentation was awesome. I was in a relationship that was based on physical attraction. I ended it right after your speech, because I saw the light. He was attracted only to the outer me, not the real me. Needless to say, you probably saved my spiritual life. I was thinking about having sex, which now I see was completely wrong. Why give this most precious thing away at such a young age? ”

* * *

“You made me feel that I can pick up the pieces of my life and start anew. I’ll never be able to forget my past and change my mistakes, but because of your speech, I feel that God is going to help me start a new life—one that I can be happy with. I learned a lot from your speech. You touched my life. I know that God is with me now.”

* * *

“I would like to thank you for your great talk. It really changed my views and possible actions concerning pre-marital sex. I mean ‘possible actions’ because my girlfriend and I were considering having sex before I left for college out of state. (She is a year younger than I am.) But your talk really changed what I thought about love between a man and a woman. Again, thank you.”

* * *

“You changed my life today. I just wanted to tell you thank you, again. I was dating this guy for a year and I thought he loved me, so we had sex. After that, he never called me again, and it hurt me really bad. I regret it so much and I just wish I could go back to that night and not have done it. But now, since I heard you talk, I am a new person, and I’m now going to live a chaste life with the help of God.”
Just think of how many lives—and souls—have been rescued because of these talks that Jason and Crystalina have delivered over the years and that your generous donations made possible! Unfortunately, this dynamic husband and wife team is booked solid for high school and parish talks—especially now that they have little ones to care for.

Therefore, we’ve “leveraged” their message through books and videotapes, which have proven highly effective.

Recently, Jason and Crystalina wrote two new booklets specifically for high school seniors who are going off to college—one for guys, one for girls—titled Pure Manhood and Pure Womanhood.

These are powerful booklets that hit the readers right where they need it. In no uncertain terms, Jason and Crystalina tell the future college students exactly what they’re going to be up against when it comes to relationships and sexuality—and how to fight against the temptations that lead to tragedy.

These two booklets are now at the printer and will be rolling off the presses in just a few weeks. And then we plan to send them to every high school senior at every Catholic high school in America!

That’s 40,000 copies total.

We’re also going to include another booklet that was written for soon-to-be college students, titled How to Stay Catholic in College.

Authored by a young philosophy professor, Christopher Kaczor, it covers all the bases on what a Catholic will face, intellectually as well as spiritually, while in college.

So we’re going to combine How to Stay Catholic in College with Pure Manhood and Pure Womanhood—and ship these to every Catholic high school senior in America.

We believe these three booklets will deliver an impressive dose of Catholic truth and wisdom that will “inoculate” our young Catholics from the viruses they’re going to be exposed to when they go away to college.

Even though many Catholic high schools do a good job of teaching the faith, the students still go into college unaware of the dangers that await them there. Nobody else seems to be preparing them. Nobody else seems to be giving them advance warning or helping to strengthen their faith ahead of time.

But that’s what we’re going to do—as long as we have your help.

As you can imagine, printing and shipping 80,000 copies of these booklets will not be cheap.

And we need your help in order to go through with this project.

This will require your utmost generosity.

I know that if enough of our supporters give sacrificially for the sake of the 40,000 Catholic high school seniors we will reach this year, we can raise the money we need—and truly make a life-changing impact on the Catholic youth of America.

You’ve come through for us in the past when we needed money for our “Pure Love” project—where we reached all 1,200 Catholic high schools in America. Now we need your help to reach the seniors who are in danger of losing their faith once they hit their first year of college.

It’s that simple.

Therefore, I want to ask anyone who’s able to do so to give a gift of $7,500 or $5,000 toward this project.

Could that be you?

Maybe you could give $2,500 toward the costs of “inoculating” those 40,000 seniors with our faith-saving message.

Your gift of $2,000 would also be an enormous help. As would $1,000.

Or perhaps you can give $750, $500, $250, or $100. If so, you’ll be playing a vital role in this monumental project.

And gifts of $75, $50, even $35 will all add up to help us reach our goal before the end of this school year.

I can’t emphasize enough how important this project is for the spiritual survival of our nation’s high school seniors as they go off to college. And all you have to do is make your most heartfelt donation today—for as much as you can possibly afford.

In return for your donation, we will send you a free set of the three booklets—so that you can give them to any high school senior(s) who are special in your life.

It’s our way of saying thank you for being so generous.

But your donation—in any amount—will help us get these booklets into the hands of Catholic seniors—as well as help us with all our ongoing work to bring the love of God to this hurting world.

Who knows? The high school senior you save just might grow up to start a Catholic apologetics organization.

Sincerely in Christ,
Karl
