What’s the #1 Question We’ve
Got to Answer This November?
HINT: It Isn’t What You Think
Dear Friend of Catholic Answers,
The national election is almost upon us. In just weeks, Americans will be going to the polls or filling out mail-in ballots to cast their votes on a wide variety of candidates and issues.
- Some of these will be local. Who will serve on the local school board? Should the county set aside funds for a new building project?
- Others will affect the whole state. Who will we send to our state legislature? Are there state-wide ballot initiatives?
- And some will impact the entire nation. Who will be our representatives in the House? Who will be our senators? And—of course—who will be our president?
All of these questions are important. The answers to them make a real difference in people’s lives. Some of them may even determine whether people live or die.
But amid all these different questions, voters will have to answer one question that matters particularly to you and to me as Catholics. That question is . . .
Will Catholics Vote Their Faith?
If they do—if they apply sound Catholic principles to their political actions—then that will guide all the other decisions they have to make. And that will make America a better place.
But you know as well as I do that all too often Catholics don’t vote their faith.
After all, that’s how we got into this mess in the first place. Today in America:
- Tens of millions of children have been killed by abortion.
- Unborn children are being destroyed so “doctors” can do lab experiments on them.
- Homosexual “marriage” is being imposed on states left and right.
- The specter of euthanasia is raising its head with the threat of medical rationing.
- Our religious liberty is under assault like never before.
And we haven’t even talked about the economic disasters, the unemployment, and the countless other threats that have left our country reeling.
All of this makes it important that we ask ourselves a serious question . . .
Why Is Our Country Such a Mess?
There are many answers, but an underlying reason is that Catholics simply have not voted in accord with their faith.
After all, there are 70 million Catholics in America today. One in four Americans is a Catholic.
Do you think we’d have a million children a year being killed if Catholics united against the scourge of abortion?
How about homosexual “marriages” being performed in courthouses (and even some churches)?
Of course not! None of those things would be happening if Catholics voted the way they should.
Blinded by the Lies
But they haven’t. Catholics have let themselves be blinded by party loyalty, by the constant spin that the media puts on issues, and by the outright lies that have been told by politicians of all stripes.
They’ve rationalized voting for candidates who told them what they wanted to hear. . .only to turn their backs on campaign promises.
They’ve majored in minors, putting lesser issues above the most dangerous threats that face our country. Some have even bought into the lie that religion has no place in politics.
And they’ve told themselves that there is nothing they can do, that they have to settle for the way things are and allow the American political class to get away with its constant scams and shenanigans . . . even as America tumbles toward disaster.
That’s where you and I come in . . .
We Must Take Action While There Is Still Time
As Catholics who are awake, who recognize the importance of voting in accord with sound moral principles, we must do all that we can to wake up our fellow Catholic voters . . . so that they won’t repeat the same cycle of errors that has led our nation to this disastrous place.
That’s why Catholic Answers is rolling our three vital resources to help Catholics understand the importance and the urgency of voting in accord with our basic moral values . . .
1) The Voter’s Guide for Serious Catholics is a proven resource that has already been seen by tens of millions of voters. It’s earned its place as the best-known and most-respected voting resource for Catholics.
As you know, the voter’s guide explains the basic principles that a Catholic needs to use when deciding how to vote—providing a mini-course in Catholic citizenship.
It also focuses on the famous “five non-negotiables”—abortion, homosexual “marriage,” embryonic stem cell research, human cloning, and euthanasia.
These aren’t issues like taxes or economic policy, where Catholics can legitimately have different views. All Catholics must be resolute in their strong opposition to these five evils.
Every election year since 2004 we’ve rolled out the voter’s guide to remind Catholics across the land of how they need to approach the responsibility of voting.
As they say, the price of freedom is eternal vigilance, and if we don’t keep reminding Catholics to vote their faith, then they will only fall under the politicians’ spell again—like they have so many times before.
This year the voter’s guide is being joined by new, dynamic resources that focus attention on two of the gravest evils threatening our land. That brings us to . . .
2) Straight Talk About Abortion. This power-packed new booklet provides just what many voters need. In a brief space it:
- lays out the case against abortion in undeniable terms,
- shows the ironclad logic of the pro-life position,
- unmasks numerous objections made by abortion advocates as the hollow rationalizations they are, and
- demonstrates in a powerful and unexpected way why abortion can’t be dismissed as a “religious issue” and why everyone must take it seriously.
But abortion isn’t the only looming moral threat in our land today, so we’ve also come out with . . .
3) Why Homosexual Unions Are Not Marriages. Too often, public debate on this subject gets sidetracked with the question of whether the government should allow homosexual marriages.
This is a waste of time. The truth is that the government can’t allow homosexual marriages because of one simple fact: Homosexual unions are not marriages. They never were. They never can be. It’s inherently impossible.
The nature of marriage itself prevents two men or two women from getting “married.”
You don’t hear this basic fact discussed in the media—so this new booklet tells it like it is and reveals what the media doesn’t want people to know.
Together, these three handy resources provide the wake-up call Catholic voters so desperately need.
There’s just one small problem . . .
We Need Your Help
Catholic Answers wants to distribute these booklets far and wide, but we can’t do that without you.
We’ve worked hard to produce them. We’ve even launched a new website (VoteCatholic.com) to help people connect with these and the other resources we’ve developed to inform and educate Catholic voters.
And we’ve been doing that on top of all our regular apostolic efforts—our radio program, our magazine, our seminars, our chastity work, our line of faith-building products . . . you name it.
That’s why I need to ask for your generosity at this time. [click here to donate.]
Perhaps you could help by making a large donation, such as $1,000 . . . $500
. . . or $250.
Maybe you could help with $125 . . . $100 . . . or $75.
Or perhaps you could help with a gift of $60 . . . $50 . . . or $40.
Whatever the amount, you have our heartfelt thanks, because your donation will help Catholic Answers continue all its apostolic work . . . including letting our fellow Catholics know about the need to vote their faith and not to be deceived by dissembling politicians.
How You Can Help with the Election
As a thank-you for your gift of $40 or more, Catholic Answers will send you ten copies of each of the three, dynamic booklets. That way you can hand them out to people you know and do your part to educate Catholic voters for the upcoming election.
Because the question remains: Will Catholics vote their faith this November?
You can help ensure our fellow Catholics answer this question the right way.
May I hear from you today? [click here to donate.]
