Fr. John Cihak, S.T.D is a Vatican official, assistant Papal Master of Ceremonies and confessor of Postulants for the Missionaries of Charity in Rome. He earned his B.A. in philosophy and theology from the University of Notre Dame (1992), and Licentiate (1999) and Doctorate (2007) in Fundamental Theology from the Pontifical Gregorian University. He has served as a Pastor and the Archdiocesan Pro-Life Director in his home Archdiocese of Portland in Oregon, as well as Professor, Spiritual Director and Dean of Students at Mount Angel Seminary. He is the author of Balthasar and Anxiety (London: T&TClark, 2009) and several articles in fundamental theology and priestly formation.
