Today is the Feast of the Nativity of St. John the Baptist. John is one of the few saints to have more than one feast day on the liturgical calendar (his martyrdom is celebrated on August 29), and perhaps the only saint besides the Blessed Virgin to have his birth celebrated as a feast day.
