A man with the name “Stratford Caldecott” might be a spy in a Bond novel, or the male lead in a Merchant-Ivory period picture. But the one I remember here was a writer and editor, a disciple of Christ, and a gentleman. And he passed away yesterday at 60.

A number of years ago, I read a blog by an anti-Catholic Protestant apologist. The Protestant had been raised a Catholic, but (according to him) "found Jesus," "got saved," and was spending his time writing anti-Catholic screeds to inform Catholics why they didn't have Jesus and would be going to hell.
